Hennessey to produce twelve VR1200’s, a 1200 HP Cadillac CTS-V coupe

Hennessey will be producing a 1200+ HP Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. Only 12 will be built.

The Cadillac makes so much power that Jalopnik reports they’re baiting Bugatti to a top-speed competition with a their upcoming 235-mph four-door Bugatti Galibier.

Hennessey VR1200 Cadillac CTS-VDubbed the 2013 Hennessey VR1200 Twin Turbo Coupe, it employs a modified version of the 7.0L twin-turbo V8 from the Venon GT and produces 1226 hp and 1109 lb-ft of torque. Performance is said to be rather astonishing with a ¼ mile time of 10.2 @ 141 mph and a top speed of 242 mph. It is tantalizing close to having a 9-second ¼ mile—will there be an even quicker and more limited version in the near future? The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport runs the ¼ around 9.9 @ 146 mph and has approximately the same power and weight. With only rear wheel drive the Hennessey is mighty quick.

Huge Brembo Brakes (15.1” carbon ceramic rotors front and rear, 8-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers) are wrapped around custom Hennessey Wheels (20×10” front, 20×13” rear) shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires (275/30YR-20 front, 345/30YR-20 rear). Custom carbon bodywork and interior upgrades complete the unknown-priced package.
